A Waikato District Council spokesperson said on Friday 10th, “Please be careful if you’re down at Ngarunui Beach. Erosion has accelerated over the past couple of days and the surf club tower is now teetering on the edge of the recently formed cliff.
If you’re on the beach itself, please stay away from the cliff edge area. WDC staff will be down there on Saturday 11th in the morning with surf club members to address the situation.
