Magazine articles about Raglan often describe the quirky or bohemian atmosphere of the town. A pair of new street signs spotted in Raglan Bow Street has just added to the quirkiness.
One sign pointing to the new museum advises that it is just 200 metres away, while the other tells tourists that the new i-SITE is a bit further on at 250 metres. Of course both facilities are in the same building. I measured the distance and found it to be about 225 metres, so on average the two signs are correct.
The question most asked by tourists is, ‘where are the toilets?” A sign answering that question is missing from the Bow Street signage installation. The new toilet block is in fact at about 250 metres in the same direction along Wainui Raod, just past the museum in Joyce Petchell Park.
