The Raglan Town Hall will soon have a new roof. Wayne Morris, Chairperson of the Town Hall Committee, said that leaks in the roof had been a cause of frustration over the last few years, particularly for Radio Community Radio, the Environment Centre and for users of the supper room. As the whole roof was in very bad condition, the Town Hall committee obtained three quotes to replace the roof and selected the proposal from WTC Roofing. The Town Hall committee annual budget shows a provision of $60,000 for the work which will be followed by replacing carpet and ceiling tiles in the supper room after internal repainting of the Town Hall and supper room.
WTC Roofing installed scaffolding just before Christmas and it is expected that they will have completed fitting of the new roof in January.
