Covid cases for Raglan, Hamilton and central Waikato are continuing the trend of dropping to near zero. They are running at around 70 a day for mid September. The new cases are tracking in a 62 to 118 band. Our model is predicting that new cases will continue to decline. There is likely to be 1 new case of Covid in Raglan each day slowly dropping to almost near zero by next weekend. There are currently about 11 active community cases, self isolating.
For our graph we have combined new daily cases numbers in Hamilton City, Raglan and other Waikato District areas (e.g. Tamahere, Whatawhata, Ngaruawahia, Huntly and Gordonton). Starting from a high level of over 1200 daily cases in early March, the numbers plateaued at about 1000 then began to slowly drop down to just over half the peak to 785 on 25th March. After tracking at about 200 a day in early May, they then went up to 350 a day, and then dropped to around 195 a day. They moved up in July to around 382 new Covid cases each day and have now declined to 70 a day.
There were 126 new cases reported in Te Whatu Ora Waikato region on Friday 9th.The total number of cases in this Waikato outbreak is now 141,141 (946 active and 140,195 recovered).
There were 324 vaccinations given in Waikato on Thursday 8th.There are 30 COVID-19 positive individuals receiving care at Te Whatu Ora Waikato hospitals – this is a mix of patients who are receiving care for COVID-19 and those receiving care for an unrelated condition who have also tested positive. There is currently one patient in ICU and none in HDU.
