Nanaia Mahuta and Barbara Kuriger retain Raglan Whaingaroa seats

Voters move in and out of the Raglan Town hall as they cast their votes.

Steady voting for the General Election during the week was followed by a busy Saturday 23rd at the Raglan Town Hall.  The two electorates that include Raglan are Hauraki Waikato and Taranaki King Country.

Nanaia Mahuta came in with a clear win over the Māori Party’s them in the Hauraki Waikato electorate.

The sitting Labour member came in with 12,070 votes compared to first time Māori Party candidate, Rahui Papa, who received 4619.

 

It was a similar story in Taranaki King Country with Barbara Kuriger securing 21,372 votes with Labour’s Hilary Humphrey getting 7,378 votes. For the PARTY VOTE the National Party had 59.2% and Labour Party had 22.8%.
