Namaste Kitchen open

Namaste Kitchen, Bow St, Raglan

The Namaste Kitchen is now open in Raglan.  You might ask, ‘Does Raglan need another restaurant?’  After tasting some takeaways from the takeaway menu, my answer is YES.  After a several months of preparation Namaste Kitchen opened on New Year’s Eve.  The restaurant caters for both dine-in and take-away diners.  The cuisine is described as asian and the menu covers  indian, thai and chinese dishes.

In   Sanskrit   “Namas”   means,   “bow,  obeisance,  reverential salutation.” It  comes from the root  Nam, which carries meanings of bending,  bowing, humbly submitting and  becoming silent. “Te” means “to you.”  Thus “namaste” means “I bow to  you.” the act of greeting  is called  “Namaskaram,” “Namaskara”  and “Namaskar” in the varied languages of the subcontinent.  The decor in the restaurant is pleasing to the eye and the tables look good adding to   the ambience.

We ordered the Double Deal at $29.90 which was enough for the three of us.  It includes 2 Large Curry, 1 Garlic Naan, 1 Plain Naan and 1 Large Rice.   We selected the butter chicken and the lamb korma.  Both dishes were cooked well.  Both curries were cooked well with plenty of meat and tasty sauces.     The order took about 20 minutes.

Overall on Value for Money I gave Namaste Kitchen an Eight out of Ten for its Double Deal – a well cooked take away meal and pleasant service.
