Raglan’s New Year’s Eve Parade is on again for 31sr December 2022 after a pause in 2021. The much loved parade with its tradition of up and down Bow Street around the median islands is organised by Raglan Lions Club.
The Raglan Lions have announced the prize money for the 2022 New Year’s Eve parade. It paused in 2021 due to Covid restrictions.
While it’s not all about winning there is $500 available for the best float this year – with $200 for second prize and $100 for third place. There are also prizes for people who are on bikes or any other kind of wheeled entry, including unicycles and/or wheelbarrows.
The Parade works well because of the huge support from families and groups in our community. There is always a huge crowd in Bow Street to watch it.
Entrants must be assembled on Wallis St by 6:30pm on Saturday 31st December for judging. You must be in on time to be judged from 6.30pm so don’t be LATE. The parade watchers need to be in Bow Street (the main street) by 7pm for the parade itself.
If you haven’t already got your float planned there is still time and there are big prizes. The parade is run and sponsored by the Lions Club of Raglan.
Bow St is closed to traffic while the parade is on.
