The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched at approximately 5pm on Wednesday 29th November to Mt Karioi, near Raglan, where a 49-year-old Whitianga man had injured himself while assisting a school camp group with setting up campsites in the bush.
The man was treated for a head injury and fractured collar bone by St John Paramedics and Fire Rescue staff before being stretcher carried a short distance to the helicopter. He was flown to Waikato Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
