Most of Raglan in no drone zone

Blue line shows the approximate position of Raglan’s no drone zone

Regulations that restrict drones from flying within four kilometres of an aerodrome or helipad mean that most of Raglan is a no drone zone.

As Raglan is an uncontrolled aerodrome, tight regulations mean that only licensed operators can fly drones anywhere within four kilometres of the airfield next to Marine Parade. And even licensed operators need prior approval. The four kilometre exclusion zone covers all of the Raglan township apart from Whale Bay. As the Fire Station helipad also has an exclusion zone, the four exclusion zone extends West to also include Greenslade Road.
