Last week from 4th to 8th August, the Independent Hearing Commissioners for the Raglan Land Company’s Private Plan Change 12 Section 42a heard submissions and further submissions on Plan Change 12, a Private Plan Change for Raglan’s Rangitahi Peninsula which proposes changes to the Waikato District Plan.
Following the hearing, the Independent Commissioners have asked for further information from the Raglan Land Company saying, “The information that we would like to receive from the applicant for each of the three options is as follows:
- A clear plan (possibly shown on a suitably-sized aerial photograph) showing the location of the proposed roading layouts, inclusive of carriageways, footpaths and parking areas, in relation to adjacent property boundaries.
- The locations and dimensions of all retaining walls considered to be required.
- Clear drawings showing how access to all properties on Opotoru Road would be achieved, both during and after the proposed upgrade works.
- An indicative schedule for completion of all construction works anticipated to be necessary.”
This information will be sent to submitters by 1 October 2014.
As I was looking over the Rangitahi penisular from the airfield, I wondered if Raglan did indeed have a shortage of housing and sections that we needed a plan change to provide up to 500 more housing options?
That is a question that the independent commissioners have been appointed to consider at the hearing.
