After completing the tower foundations for their Te Uku wind farm, Meridian Energy today began the work of erecting the wind farm towers and turbines.  Meridian said that they have a 300 tonne crane on site for the base section and will use a 600 tonne crane for the upper sections and turbines.    A number of Raglan people expressed surprise to The Raglan Website that they could clearly see the towers from Raglan.

WEL Networks has already completed building the 33,000 volt line which will connect the wind farm to the national grid at Te Kowhai.
