The 6 May walk will instead be to the Karamu Walkway. ( This is a change to the advertised programme due to tree felling.) The walk probably won’t cover the whole eleven kilometres of the walkway, but the views from the top of the Kapamahunga Range offer many fine vistas of both the Waikato and the Whaingaroa areas. The view in the photo looks down to the summit of the deviation and across to Heretu. It also looks down on the Ed Hillary Hope Reserve, which is to be officially opened on 23 May. (details of the opening at http://envirocentre.wordjot.com/wj_sites/envirocentre/20150423/q5erkk3j..pdf).
Walks usually start 9am Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook
