Make your Emails Work for You
Email Best Practices and introduction to MailChimp

Communication and marketing via email still remains the most used and most effective way to connect with your customers or between businesses. But now it’s much harder to ensure your email gets delivered due to the complex layers of spam filters – and when it is delivered safely to their Inbox, it has to compete for attention with the mass of emails that we all receive.

Understanding how the spam filters work, and how to craft your emails appropriately for your customers and suppliers will greatly improve your success in connecting with them – for sales, suppliers and, most importantly, for building a good working relationship.

In this workshop we’ll look at the ‘dos’ (recommended email best practices) and the ‘don’ts’ (what to absolutely avoid) of emails and how to avoid falling foul of the major spam filters – and their rather dire consequences.

Once the groundwork is laid you’ll then be well prepared for using a bulk email service for regular mail outs or marketing campaigns. I’ll cover a general introduction to using one of these email delivery systems – my favourite is MailChimp (a free email service provider), though there are many other options. MailChimp is very user-friendly and actively maintains a high standard of emails – so yes, it will be checking the standard of your outgoing emails!
