The Waingaro Hot Pools are open again. A terse message on their website says, ** Please note: The pools and slides are now open!**
The pools were closed by the Waikato District Council in January 2014 due to health and safety considerations. In October 2015, a High Court judge ordered the pools remain closed and found the Singhs, the pool operators, guilty of multiple breaches which he regarded as “serious” and affected the “safe operation of the facility. They were given 90 days to undertake the remedial work the judge ordered must be done.
The required work appears to have now been completed and pool visitors have reported that, “It hasn’t changed much not too flash. The pools are clean although not as warm as what they use to be.”
Prices are $11 per adult $6 per child. The website says the pools are open from 9.00am to 9.30pm daily. You can phone first to check on 07 825 4761.
Good to see the pools open again.

It hasn’t changed the elderly woman is racist and there are reports of maggots in the cabin fridges. Myself and my family were treated horribly today by the owners because of our race. I will never return here and urge people to stay clear of the place until there is a change of ownership.
