On the 28th March, Raglan Ramblers will be descending into Te Toto Gorge. While the route is under four kilometres it descends 300 metres steeply down to the beach. Then the track goes round the
cliff, formed of layers of ash and lava, before going back up to the Whaanga Road. Along the way there is natural history to see along with archaeology, geology and bush, gorge and sea views. Please bring your lunch.
Walks usually start 9 am, Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook-https://www.facebook.com/RaglanRamblers/ .
Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
