Sculpture on the Gulf fundraiser trip

Summer is in full force and what better way to enjoy the warm weather than a cool trip to the Perpetual Guardian Sculpture on the Gulf on Waiheke Island.

Jump on board the Raglan Old School Arts Centre fundraiser trip to catch New Zealand’s foremost outdoor sculpture exhibition.

The biennial event is set over the coastal Matiatia headland and added to this year’s display is striking sculptural works in Alison Park and the Artworks Precinct at the gateway to Oneroa village.

Featuring new works by established and emerging New Zealand artists, this special island experience will challenge and excite visitors to explore the sculptural works, the landscape and the hospitality Waiheke Island is renowned for here and abroad.

This year, an independent selection panel have selected 28 works and promises to be a stand out event, matching if not rivalling works exhibited in previous events.

Artists include Anton Forde, Euan Lockie, James Wright, Janet Lilo, Kauri Hawkins, Kazu Nakagawa and Pacific Environments Architects, Kereama Taepa, Leon van den Eijkel, Ngahina Hohaia, Robert Jahnke, Veronica Herber and Virginia King.

Let the Old School do all the hard work and all you need to do is save the date – Wednesday, March 20.

Ticket price $140 – includes comfortable coach leaving from the Old School Arts Centre | Return Fullers ferry ride to Waiheke | Return shuttle bus from the ferry to the sculpture park | Entry fee into the sculpture park.
