Council contractor repairs Lorenzen Bay seawall

In mid 2011, Lorenzen Bay resident, Stan Francis let the Waikato District Council know that part of the seawall for the Lorenzen Bay esplanade reserve had collapsed when it had been washed away by a king tide. In January 2012, the Waikato Council placed a load of crushed rock at the collapse site to stop erosion. The rock was soon washed away from the seawall by waves during storms.

In the past week three years after the collapse, a council contractor has been at work rebuilding the wall permanently. Good to see this wall fixed up, as this is a busy area over summer used by yachts, kayaks and other boats.
