Left-handed guitar player Marten Ten Broek and right-handed guitar player Chris Thompson combined for a Special Blues Evening on Saturday 11th January 2014 at the Raglan Old School Arts Centre. They played to an enthusiastic audience in the packed gallery room with a few people even enjoying the music from outside looking in the window.
The evening started with Chris playing some of his old favourites including, Where Is My Wild Rose?, The Raglan Road and The Grocer’s Blues giving snippets on when and how he composed them. Marten then did a set of his own songs which he described as moody ballads. Marten described how the songs had been composed, one while he was in the bath and another with his cat.
For the final set, the pair combined for some traditional blues numbers. Great music and a great evening!
