An open door on Saturday gave a glimpse at last-minute preparation work underway at Raglan’s new cafe, the Social Club. Although the cafe owner, Rach Bidois said they planned just to ‘funk it up a bit’, the cafe has been given a major makeover. In the past the two cafes on this site at 23 Bow Street had awkward layouts with patrons having to walk through tables to get to the counters. A large noisy chiller cabinet dominated the counter.
The old dark timber double counters have gone and been replaced by a single counter near the main entrance. It’s all looking promising for the opening now on Wednesday 8th Monday 6th. The exterior has been painted in ironsand gray.
