Last meeting of old Raglan Community Board coming up

The final meeting of the Community Board before the election is on Tuesday (14 September) at 1.30pm in the Supper Room. The public forum starts at 1pm, giving an opportunity to discuss issues.

The Community Board agenda (at http://www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz/Your-Council/Meetings/Community-boards/Raglan.aspx) has the items that were in last month’s agenda (the meeting was inquorate) and also includes:-

  • Structure Plan – large number of submissions
  • Community House market – Soul Shoes & Kanuka object to Bow St closures
  • $23583 in discretionary fund – propose reducing funding rounds from every meeting to 3 times a year – Classic Car Festival asking for $1500, Raglan Community Radio $1480, Maori Wardens $8,200, Best Kept Gardens $2000
  • Staged rebuild of wharf planned
  • all footpath work stopped due to lack of funding, though $59,951 allocated in Annual Plan
  • Wi Neera St kerb & channel to be funded for footbridge access
  • Calvert Rd bus shelter moving to Manu Bay
  • Long St rebuilding 2012
  • Museum tenders being reviewed, though one funder has withdrawn
  • 6 of 21 bollard lights for Marine Pde being designed. $75,000 for that and extra lighting on Simon Rd, Lorenzen Bay Rd and Park Dr
  • Parking – 2 spaces lost on Bow St at refurbished crossings, but 2 new on Wainui Rd and a yellow line at the entrance to the Info Centre driveway.
  • Flax Cove developer SBS Bank suggests Te Whare Hauora Pl (house of healing)
  • 17-24 September Keep New Zealand Beautiful week
