With many guests re-booking their summer holidays a year in advance, Raglan Kopua Holiday Park’s Mary Clark say they are now having to turn visitors away.
“With camping and caravaning seen as a “traditional Kiwi thing”, Mrs Clark said, “it allows an affordable holiday for families and couples on a tight budget. We have visitors who like to pay off their holidays in instalments which helps if they’re on a budget.”
While the AA’s popular Bookabach site has 102 Raglan properties listed most are fully booked over the next few nights. The Raglan Sunset Motel’s online booking system still shows some rooms available apart from New Year’s Eve.
