King tide causes flooding around Raglan

The super moon and the associated king tide helped by Thursday’s rain, caused flooding around Raglan on Friday 2nd February just after midday. The usual low lying spots were flooded; the end of Lorenzen Bay Road, Puriri Street and Marine Parade. On Marine Parade car drivers took great delight in driving through the just submerged road.

The inundation came less than one month after the last one on 5th January. While these temporary floods have occurred before, in the past the flooding has only been every few years.
