June 21: Ramblers walk visiting Maungatautari

Update:

This week we are going to the Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari reserve at Pukeatua.
For those who want to walk around the enclosed reserve there is a charge of $25 for adults, $22.50 for gold card holders. There may be a group concession available.
For those who want to do the more challenging walk on the traverse track (toward the summit and back) there is no charge. We suggest that this group take the locator beacon. Whoever has this would you please bring it along.
Meeting in James St as usual and bring lunch. The drive to the visitor centre in Tari Rd takes approximately 1 ¼ hours.

On the 21st June Raglan Ramblers will be visiting Maungatautari. The 3400 hectares, around the mountain, surrounded by 47 kilometres of pest-proof fence, increases the chances of seeing and hearing birds. Ramblers say they’ll split into an energetic group, to climb the mountain and get views, and strollers, doing more watching and listening. Please bring your lunch.
