As regards the bylection, there is a declaration form in the agenda, so it seems the 2 new members are expected to be there on Tuesday.
The agenda is at http://waidc.govt.nz/Documents-Library/Files/Your-Council/Agendas-2015/150609-RCB-Agenda.aspx. Items on the agenda include –
-
Wainui Rd – Te Hutewai Rd Track scoping study report –
recommends 3.4km $50,800 track to edge of Karioi DoC reserve (see Pooley’s Rd on 1947 map and the Walking Access Map – in the 2013 LTP $70,000 was allocated to open the paper road). A cycle track along the full length of the paper road is estimated to cost $116,000. -
Swimming pool – Swimming Club “to call a meeting together of key stakeholders to have a ‘brain storm’ about next steps.” (despite being 2nd on the list of Raglan’s LTP projects, it still doesn’t feature in the LTP)
-
West Coast Tsunami Study to be done by e-Coast by September.
-
Warihi Playground is to be upgraded in early July 2015 with new swings, slide and roundabout.
-
Customer Report Management – the only case of a dangerous/ insanitary building inspection, 1 of the sea safety and both illegal camping, dirty toilets and wasp nest calls weren’t completed on time. Only 2 of 14 pothole reports were dealt with on time. Only two thirds of parks complaints were dealt with on time, less than half of roading and only just over half of stormwater.
-
Discretionary fund has $6,034 ($2,000 not spent on Chronicle returned) and will get the 2015/16 $14,000 next month. Chamber of Commerce want $1,000 for Matariki festival. Unpaid commitments total $9,411, including the WEC garden tool library.
-
Marine Pde / Wainui Rd footpath completed.
-
Sewage plant improvements listed with planned dates.
-
Ultrafast Broadband and Rural Broadband Initiative – verbal report to be given.
-
MP – “Ms B Kuriger, MP for Taranaki/King Country will be in attendance to address the Board.”
Should WED be taking up these, or other issues? There is still no mention of items previously left unresolved, such as buses, a water meter cost/benefit analysis, Waingaro Hot Springs, footbridge signs, or Freedom camping (a report was to go to the February meeting).

Hi Rodger, the link to the agenda seems to go to one from May 2014?
Thanks Anthea. I’ve fixed the link now.
Sorry, the link should be http://waidc.govt.nz/Documents-Library/Files/Your-Council/Agendas-2015/150609-RCB-Agenda.aspx, which is the June 2015 agenda.
