Jun 30-Jul 2: Word Café Raglan Writers Readers Festival 2017

Mark it on your calendar, Word Café Raglan Writers Readers Festival returns Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July at the Raglan Town Hall.

In its 3rd year running the festival programme is bigger and more diverse than ever. We are excited to have the following well-known authors featuring at this year’s festival. Media personality and novelist Karyn Hay, poet Paula Green, graphic novelist Sarah Laing and international best- selling novelist Nalini Singh. Appearing alongside will be an extravaganza of writers, poets, storytellers, activists, explorers, children’s authors and inspired novices all coming together to celebrate the joy and power of words.

“I thoroughly enjoyed Word Café Raglan Festival 2015, the presentations were intimate, you get to rub shoulders with the writers and Raglan is the most picturesque seaside town, a beautiful setting to hold a festival…” “Word Café aims to celebrate the joy and power of words with our community” says committee member Linda Silvester, who had the original idea of hosting a writers readers festival in Raglan, back in 2013.

“We’re interested in promoting and hearing from writers of all types and genres, and at all stages of their career.”

The crammed programme spans three days and includes a spoken poetry showcase, an evening extravaganza and open mic night, book launches, author Q&As, a writing workshop and competition. Click here to download the Word Café Raglan 2017 programme
