Jun 28: Snow on the Beach and Mid-winter Swim

Enjoying snow on the beach

Raglan ‘Snow on the Beach’ attracts hundreds of people every year. Saturday 28th June will see 12 tonnes of snow dropped onto Papa Hua No. 3 Block next to the Boat Ramp and Te Kopua Domain. The Raglan Community House 2014 have organised the ‘snowfall’ for the Snow on the Beach Festival.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Ray White Mid-winter Swim. The “Snowfield” will open at 11am and the swim will take place at 11.30am. Come along and have loads of fun in the snow – make a snowman or a snow angel – and if you are brave enough, join in the madness of the mid winter swim! If you are swimming, make sure you dress up and compete for the best dressed costumes!

Raglan Community House will offer free soup and hot drinks. Food will also be for sale. Music and the Bouncy Castle (and maybe the odd lolly scramble!) will complete the fun-filled activities. Helpers will be needed at 10am to help spread the snow so if you can help, bring along a spade or a rake to help us prepare the snowfield! The back up day for this event (in case of bad weather) is Saturday 12th July. See you there!!
