Jul 6: The YOT Club closing

The Yot Club’s Final Gig Announced ft. The DHDFDs, Hermordroid, Illicit Wah Wahz, Hoick, Stunt Clown + More

Host to countless killer live shows for eleven summers straight, Raglan’s The Yot Club are pulling the plug in ruckus fashion, with their final ever gig this coming Saturday 6th July. A crucial node on Aotearoa’s touring network, regularly hosting local and international acts to amped-up crowds, The Yot Club’s last event stars The DHDFD’s, Hoick, Illicit Wah Wahz, Stunt Clown, Sonomass and Vikkileeg raising a glass to the iconic venue.

The Yot Club’s departure will have a major impact on the famous Waikato surf town’s live music culture. As the show’s name makes no bones about, the venue has been in dispute with their landlord from 2020 onwards, according to their statement about the acrimonious closure you can read in full HERE. Venue owner Andy Meek, who also runs Tāmaki Makaurau’s Ink Bar and The Mothership, spoke in-depth about the The Yot Club and Ink Bar’s ongoing landlord issues with The Redlining Podcast HERE. Head along this weekend and help The Yotty go out with a bang…

“After a solid 11 summer run bringing the extreme goodness over all types of and genres of music The Yotty is facing its last weekend. So what better way to go out then an outdoor indoor party featuring a heap of acts that have blown our collective minds in that time. Huge love to The DHDFD’s, Hoick, Illicit Wah Wahz, Stunt Clown, Sonomass, Vikkileeg with more to come.

No apologies given for the gig name.

I believe The Yotty is so essential to our beautiful town I’ll give the business away (with conditions). The alternative mentioned above is too sickening for words”.
