A meeting at 7pm on Wednesday 6 July in the Town Hall Supper Room will be brainstorming how to get more community involvement during and after the spring elections. After a brief introduction and the plan is to split into groups to brainstorm on –
- the main issues to campaign on, how we’d hope to implement them and whether we should have a manifesto
- how to get candidates, both locally and at district and regional level
- how to support candidates before and after election
- how to get them elected
- how to involve voters before and after election
The meeting has been organised by Whaingaroa Environmental Defence ahead of the local elections in September for Community Board, Waikato District and Regional Councils and Health Board. Nominations for these open later this month.
Afterwards there’ll be WED’s AGM. All are welcome to attend both meetings.
Raglan Naturally and Placemaking (as in this 2014 photo) showed that many people are keen to help improve Raglan. Bring your ideas about how to get more involvement like this!
