Sunday 26th July sees the return of Karioi Classic bike race for the sixth time. Taking place on mainly gravel roads around Raglan’s Mt Karioi Along the way there are great views of the rugged west coast. It has now become quite famous with Commonwealth Games silver medalist Sam Gaze, Single Speed World Champion Garth Weinberg, and other top riders competing in the past.
Organisers Lisa and Dirk say that this year there is the option to enter the 43km or 57km race with either mtb, cyclo-x, single speed or retro road bikes. The race will start at 9.30am (Classic XL) or 10am (Classic) by Raglan Fire Station in Wainui Road. The challenging ride finishes at Raglan Airfield and you need to be able to finish your chosen distance within 4 hours.

Entry fees are:
- Individual u16 : $35 (43km) $40 (57km)
- Individual Open : $45 (43km) $55 (57km)
- Tandem teams : $80 (43km) $90 (57km)
There will be a late registration fee of $15 on race weekend.
