On the 25th July, Raglan ramblers will crossing the harbour and walking to Te Kaha (Mussel Rock). Along the way there are good views of Raglan, Karioi, the coast and the harbour from 150m high Horea. As well as all that there is a cave in the basalt, 60 metre high black sand dunes, a dune-dammed lake. The photos above show how, each time the Ramblers visit the area, the dunes have pushed the lake a bit further up the valley). And if that isn’t enough there are limestone stacks and a beach walk. Please bring lunch and your boat fare.

Walks usually start 9 am, Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook-https://www.facebook.com/RaglanRamblers/ .

Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
