Waikato District Council has announced that nominations will open on July 19th for the 2019 local body elections. This is your chance to put your name forward for election as Raglan Councillor or stand for the Raglan Community Board.

Standing is your chance to make a difference in your community.

The Waikato District Council’s Mayor, 13 Councillors and 30 Community Board Members represent you, your whanau and the community. They are accountable to you the planning , direction and management of resources to meet the present and future needs of the district.

Successful candidates need to have a clear understanding of what the community needs and who they are.

Candidate information booklet

A candidate information booklet will soon be available which outlines information which may be of interest to you as a candidate in the 2019 local government elections.

The election will be conducted under the provisions of the Local Electoral Act 2001 and the Local Electoral Regulations 2001. Other legislative references are found in section 5 of this handbook.
