Jul 15: Top classical musicians to perform in Raglan

Raglan Community Arts Council presents a classical concert with David and Christine Griffiths

One of New Zealand’s leading baritone soloists, David Griffiths will be performing in Raglan on Sunday July 15th.  Accompanied by his wife, well-known pianist Christine Griffiths,  the programme will include songs by Bellini, Brahms, Faure, Schubert, Vaughan Williams and Douglas Lilburn.

David Griffiths is a New Zealander, born and brought up in Auckland. He has a reputation of being one of New Zealand’s leading baritone soloists. Raglan is now home for David and his wife Christine.

Christine and David have performed in recitals extensively throughout New Zealand as well as abroad. International concerts have included recital tours of America, Taiwan, China and Italy. In the Waikato they are regular performers at the Academy of Performing Arts Lunchtime recitals at the University.

The classical evening at the Old School Arts Centre is a fundraiser for the Creative Space building now being built behind the Old School. Before the concert begins there will be a catch up with the latest news on the Creative Space project, followed by a two-course meal, starting with including a curry prepared by the Raglan Four Square whanau plus home-made baking with Raglan Coconut Yoghurt.
