With a highly responsive and conversational quality to their performance, West and Pearson take their listeners on a varied journey across several Western and Eastern traditions and several centuries, weaving the tones of the fiddle, wooden flute, guitar, voice, whistles and Scottish smallpipes in beautiful and inventive ways. Polytropos is an immensely memorable listening experience for all ages and will have your heart soaring and toes tapping.

The Duo are New Zealand-based but take their name from an ancient Greek word whose translation ranges from ‘well-travelled,’ to ‘many faced,’ to ‘the man of twists and turns’, polytropos captures the essence of how these young multi-instrumentalists approach their music – a dynamic range of tunes, songs and instrumental spirited sets arranged in thoughtful and exciting ways, never tied to just one particular part of the world.
