On the 12th July, Raglan Ramblers will be walking in the Hakarimatas via the Cascades. This is a climb up in podocarp bush from the Cascades rail trail (converted from a railway closed in 1958) to the 374 metre summit viewing tower to look over Ngaruawahia and the Waikato. The route then depends on whether repairs to the storm damaged 300m of steps to have been completed. If they have, the Ramblers will also visit the tree-lined 1923 reservoir. Please bring your lunch.

Walks usually start 9am, Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station). There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs. Details from John 825 7866. Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook

Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
