Meridian proudly announced on Friday 19th November, that the first turbine at its Te Uku wind farm had begun generating power. Residents and visitors could see the sole turbine clearly rotating on Friday and Saturday. But on Sunday the turbine was stationary and on Monday 22nd November there was still no life in it late into the afternoon.
Raglan Weather confirmed that wind conditions on Sunday and Monday were ideal for wind farm generating operations. It is not known why the wind farm has stopped generating power.
