Jan 27: Moonlight walk at Aotea

On January 27th, Raglan Ramblers will be walking at Aotea by moonlight from 6pm. This is another walk in the cooler evening. Sunset is about 8.40pm, moon rise about 10.15 and low tide about 7pm, so there is a chance to walk across to the islands (Motukotuku Rocks) in the middle distance of this photo. There are many other oddly shaped lime-rich rocks on this coast – bring a torch and supper.

Walks usually start 9am, but this special evening walk starts at 6pm, Wednesdays from Wainui Rd car park (next to Raglan Fire Station).  There is no membership – the only cost is 10 cents per km to share travel costs.  Details from John 825 7866.   Check out Raglan Ramblers on Facebook

Each “Rambler” accepts responsibility for any accident or injury received while travelling, or walking over private property. Be prepared – carry enough food, clothing, first aid kit for emergencies and preferably a mobile phone.
