Local body elections are coming up later in 2022. With sitting Mayor Allan Sanson having announced he won’t be standing this time round, the position is open for new candidates. The full list of candidates for Raglan and other parts of the Waikato District will be available in August.
One of the first to announce she will be standing for Mayor is Jacqui Church, the sitting councillor for Pokeno, Tuakau and adjacent rural areas. Jacqui has provided this information:
Factually wrong ! deputy Mayor Aksel BECH announced his intentions sone months ago, when Mayor Allan indicated his retirement .
Cr Church did not give her colleagues the courtesy of telling them ( as is good manners amongst councillors ) but just dumped it onto social media .
