Innovating Streets – Places for people

Raglan Community Board news

Drop in sessions to be held at
Raglan Town Hall Supper Room. Saturday and Sunday at 11 AM – 2 PM Hosted by Raglan Community Board

The Raglan Community Board is excited to announce that we have been successful in securing funding under Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s ‘Innovating Streets Programme’.This is an exciting opportunity for our community to create more people focused spaces on Bow Street – we know it‘s the people in our community that make Raglan what it is, come along and be part of this!During the recent lockdown we saw our community reconnect, slowed down and enjoying the safety of being out on our streets: walking, biking and letting the kids freely run and play. This is something that we should be able to enjoy all the time, not just in exceptional circumstances. This funding allows us to experiment and trial ideas to create more spaces for our community to enjoy. While the project is in place, there will be opportunities for you to give feedback so if necessary the design can be modified, improved further, or the spaces simply revert back to their original state. We get to trial what works or not before making any permanent changes. Our drop in sessions are all about getting your ideas and input for this project – this is community led and we look forward to seeing you on the 1st and 2nd of August.

  1. Quite frankly this is insane. While our local businesses are struggling to climb out of a post lockdown hole, Raglan Naturally and Raglan Community Board are planning on removing car parks in town. Car parks that attract people to our businesses. This is wrong in every way, talk about Idealism before Reality!
