  1. Although submissions are limited to Future Proof, it reopens the whole range of the development for submission. The criteria are set out at the top of http://www.waikatoregion.govt.nz/Council/Policy-and-plans/Regional-Policy-Statement/Regional-Policy-Statement-Review/Section32/11/6ADevelopment-principles/. I’ve cited that link because it’s easier to find and copy than the link in the above media release.

Maybe when WDC has spent another $90,000 (see https://www.raglan23.co.nz/2014/mayor-learns-theres-more-to-raglan-than-fish-n-chips/) the WDC website will be more user-friendly? Or was that decision just another insight into the process which keeps WDC rates rising well above inflation? It seemed to me that WDC councillors didn’t really understand why they were being asked to spend an extra $90,000, yet still voted for it.

    1. Perhaps the new $90K person can buy a ‘clicker’ to allow presenters to control PowerPoint pressos. Very expensive to bring along a person to advance slides by hand signals and it doesn’t work well. Some of the councillors seemed to think that the new person was an alternative to imessage. Seems strange that when a new manager is appointed, almost the first thing they do is hire an assistant to do their job.

      1. The CEO mentioned the extra work required by more consultation, so I wonder if this is his protest at having to do more consultation?
