Media Release: From Neighbourhood Support with guidance from Police in Raglan, 18th December 2016
Salutations and Greetings!
The holiday season is upon us. With this knowledge we need to be aware of some facts and guidance to ensure our safety and unity.
The 24 hour area-wide liquor ban is in force from 23 December 2016 – 6th January 2017. The area covered is circuitous from Te Uku in the East , to Te Mata and Ruapuke in the south west, then back to Raglan and out again to Te Uku. This means NO open alcohol containers of any type on our person, in our cars, or off commercial or residential property within that area.
There is NO Freedom Camping within Raglan Township and environs. To learn more about Freedom Camping areas contact Waikato District Council on 0800 492452
Due to the expectation of large number of visitors, could we locals be extra considerate in our interactions with others, be it driving anywhere within our environs, parking, or waiting in lines at supermarkets or shops. In other words to be at all times courteous and considerate of others ensuring all are kept safe and happy.
If you observe any criminal behaviour, or any person in urgent need of assistance dial 111 or *555 from your mobile phone.
If you know of any behaviour that could cause harm to anyone or property phone Local Raglan Police on 078258200, or 0800555111 if you wish to remain anonymous .
Tourists and visitors are the lifeblood of the shops and services in Raglan , which in turn allows us to live the lifestyle we do for the rest of the year. Please be aware of our neighbours needs to also enjoy their holidays, respecting their space. May I wish you all a joyous and seasonal unified time during the next few weeks.
Warmest Arohanui
Kathy Gilbert Area Coordinator Neighbourhood Support
