HEB moves on Raglan Wharf

HEB starting work on repairing the Raglan Wharf structure

Earlier this week HEB Structures started moved heavy equipment and containerised offices onto Raglan Wharf. HEB is the successful contractor for repairing the original section of Raglan Wharf. Earlier this month, Waikato District Council accepted HEB’s tender of $429,723.  The work involves sand blasting away weak concrete and replacing it with shotcrete.
The repair option designed by Beca has saved Raglan ratepayers close to a million dollars when the design, project supervision and construction costs totalling $810,744 are compared to Council’s budget of $1.7 million.

Beca, HEB and WDC are to be congratulated on coming up with the right approach and saving so much money. An investigation by Beca concluded that most of the wharf structure is in average to very good condition and needed to be repaired rather replaced.

Great to see some action on geting the wharf working again!
