It seemed that yesterday (Saturday 25th) that the sunny weather for the start of the holiday weekend was a reason for everybody to head to Raglan. Queues were out the door at Roll Up as people waited for real fruit ice cream. Cliff St was jammed pack with cars along the waterfront. And it seemed that many just wanted to head to the beach.

While Sunday won’t be a day of full-on sun, it will be fine in Raglan until late afternoon.

The Raglan art weekend was very popular with groups of people visiting the artists and market at the Old School and then heading off around the countryside to check out jewellery is made or the great range of media that many artists use.    In the Clay Shed the visitors could create their own work of art on the outside of a coffee cup.

As well as paintings many artists have a range of lower priced options available including cards and calendars. Miranda Caird at Whale Bay has a range of art work on sale with everything from originals to her paintings printed on cushion covers and outdoor panels.
