John Webster has just started a business in Raglan for guided bow hunting. This is aimed at bringing bow hunters from the Waikato and Auckland who are short on time but are keen to try their bow at hunting to the Raglan Whaingaroa area for guided hunts.
The Bridal Veil Falls bush is one of very few bow-hunting-only locations in New Zealand. Also with the water access only bush across the harbour that he would like to promote and hire kayaks to get hunters across for an overnight goat hunt. So with that and the additional private land locations he has access John says that this will make our area a creditable low cost alternative to the likes of Taupo and its high prices for guided deer hunting.
John believes this business will be good for other local accommodation providers and the hospitality trade when his guests come for full day and weekend hunting trips.
