Saturday in Raglan is a fantastic spring day with little wind, not a cloud in the sky and temperatures just under twenty degrees C. For HEB staff working on the new Kopua footbridge it was a perfect day for more work on installation of the handrails. These are multi-coloured in tones of green and purple.
In a report to the Raglan Community Board, the Waikato District Council says it expects that the bridge will open on a day between the 12th and 16th September. (But the word on the Raglan grapevine is that the official opening will be on the 22nd September).
Carvings for the bridge are being worked on now. After the official opening, dismantling of the old bridge will start.
