Saturday’s waka ama racing on the Opotoru saw a large turnout with teams coming from all over the North Island. The day started with a karakia at 10am followed by an OC1 and OC2 men’s races, then by women’s race. A full programme followed with the 3km races followed by a series of 250m sprints. The day finished with a lolly scramble at 1.30pm.
