The multiple WDC works underway in Gilmour Street were due to be completed by mid July. Back in April, WDC and their contractors said the 0.7 million dollar project would be completed on time. WDC describes the project as an urban upgrade.
With the target date and completion overdue we asked WDC when the work would be finished.
A spokesperson said, “The current scheduled completion date for Gilmour Street is 31 August 2021. The schedule has slipped due to a combination of additional scope of works (the late addition of Chorus cable relocations, and complete Watermain network replacements), as well as winter weather (minimising holiday disruption as requested), and covid-related labour, materials and delivery difficulties.
