Footbridge walkway open

The wide footpath with balustrade is now open. Waikato District Council has announced that the works on the northern end of the walkway from Raglan’s jetty reserve along the Opotoru Estuary to the Papahua footbridge are complete. The council says that in addition to the repaired seawall with the 2.8m wide footpath above it fitted with a new balustrade a new water main has been installed.

The council says it will now turn its attention will to the southern end as they begin to work through options to repair that area of sea wall.
