Flowers coming for dug up Bow Street gardens

The flower gardens planned for Bow and Bankart Streets

After allowing the Raglan Bow and surrounding street verge and median strip gardens to deteriorate over the years since they were planted when Bankart Street was updated, Waikato District Council dug the gardens up on Tuesday 14th and cut down cabbage and titoki trees. The removal of the titoki trees had been approved by the Raglan Community Board.

One of the gardens dug up was the nice little veggie garden outside the Environment Centre. It seems it didn’t fit with the Council’s masterplan.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Community Board, Council staff provided board members with plans showing  colourful flower gardens that are to replace what has been dug up.
