On Tuesday evening Raglan Librarian Merren Tait and a few other volunteers painted a blue pathway on the steps and entry of Raglan Library. The location is popular for backpackers wanting to make Skype phone calls home using the Library’s free WiFi.

The library linger-node project is establishing a clear entry path to the library and council office. the pint was donated by local business Soul Shoes and supplied at a reduced price by Raglan Warehouse Building Supplies. Padded coffee bean sacks have been provided for the backpackers to sit on while they make their phone calls and use their digital devices.

The project came about after a Raglan walkaround by community spaces guru David Engwicht. A community meeting decided that the library linger node project was ideal as a quick one to get started on improving Bow St. Merren Tait volunteered to lead the project and a number of people volunteered to assist her.

Councillor Baddeley has arranged for David Engwicht to return on Saturday 22nd February to run a full workshop in preparation of undertaking a place making project in Raglan.
