HEB Construction placed the first two deck beams on Thursday the 22nd for the Kopua footbridge.  This marks another major step towards completing the bridge. The $3.1 million bridge is being built by HEB Structures for the Waikato District Council. It is wider than the old bridge and will allow pedestrians and cyclist to pass on the bridge. The new bridge is being built to the north of the present bridge.  It is expected that the bridge will be completed in September this year.
